Joint development work.
maxon dental develops and produces ceramic implants, abutments and accessories together with implant companies. Our customers' specifications are prepared using state-of-the-art CAD technology and the relevant design adjusted to the needs of ceramic material. We work very closely with our customers in this phase. Under ISO 13485, customer requirements are recorded on a specifications list and implemented with great precision.

Structuring the surface.
Ceramic material normally has a smooth surface which slows down the healing process of an implant. maxon dental has developed a special process that roughens the surface (see picture). This concept demonstrably promotes bone growth and accelerates osseointegration.
Mechanically processed surface

The surface can be roughened mechanically or chemically. A microstructure is produced with chemical processing; investigations into osseointegration are still under way. Roughed surface

Rigidity measurements.
Part of our development process involves testing the implants and superstructures for rigidity. Tensile strength monitoring and fatigue testing are carried out according to EN ISO 14801.

Find out here about a detailed description of the testing method..

Producing samples.
Samples can be produced very quickly by hand using the full component, be surface-treated and put through their paces.

Series production.
After extensive internal testing and final field tests by the customer, the implants and abutments go into series production using CIM technology (Ceramic Injection Moulding).
